[ ker-ith ] n. :
A reference to the Kerith Ravine where the prophet Elijah is sustained by God during a drought. God sends ravens to feed Elijah when he is cut off from ordinary sources of support. Kerith is a temporary respite. After some time, the brook dries up and God gives Elijah his next steps.
—from 1 Kings 17
Kerith is a confidential space to listen, process, and discern next steps. Pastoral care integrates Scripture, prayer, and presence;
we believe that transitions can be life-giving when we have access to care and connection that (1) meets us where we are and
(2) helps us get to our next step.
Pastoral care is not a substitute for mental health or health care services, but we are happy to provide referrals for appropriate continuing care.
We believe that in Christ we live, move, and have our being (Acts 17:28). Our vision for wholeness and healing is rooted in God’s Word and made possible in fellowship with other believers. We are not meant to journey alone (Luke 10:1, Ecclesiastes 4:12).
Kerith is an inclusive space for individuals seeking care and support no matter where they are on their faith journey—struggling, forming, healing, deconstructing, doubting, wrestling, thriving, seeking, questioning—or all of the above. We believe that human flourishing is possible when the whole of our being is in submission to Jesus Christ, but understand that this is an on-going, life-long process. You are welcome to come as you are.
